Surface treatment kongsberg

At Kongsberg in Norway we offer targeted surface treatment of smaller components, closely integrated with our own production and overhaul of hydraulic valve blocks and valves. Here, the facility and procedures are adapted to Servis' product portfolio, with a focus on priming, system painting and good adhesion.

Surface treatment adapted to our production

Surface treatment at Kongsberg is set up for smaller products and components – especially adapted to our own production and overhaul of hydraulic valve blocks and associated equipment.

Typical assignments at Kongsberg are:
•    Priming and painting of hydraulic valve blocks and smaller components
•    Surface treatment as part of overhaul and repair
•    Preparation and priming before further system painting at the customer or at the installation site

What we deliver most at Kongsberg is priming, as much of the equipment is system painted where it is ultimately installed.

Paint systems, NORSOK primers and Carboline

We also carry out some system painting at Kongsberg. Many of our procedures are based on relevant NORSOK specifications.

To ensure predictable quality and familiarity with the products, we at Kongsberg exclusively use paints from Carboline. These are systems we know well and which are well suited to our products and customer requirements.

We also perform tie-coating to ensure the best possible adhesion on everything we paint. This is especially important when the primer we apply is to be part of a further system at the customer's premises.

Hydraulick valve production in Kongsberg

Since Hydranor was established in 1962, we have designed and supplied robust and durable valve blocks that are designed to withstand the maritime environment. The technology in our valve blocks has been thoroughly tested over many years by the most demanding offshore and marine customers.

Spray room

We also have a dedicated drying room, so that the components can cure under controlled conditions after the paint is applied. To give an indication of size, the largest we can take into our spray room is approx. 75x50x50cm.

Sandblasting in connection with overhaul

At Kongsberg we have a sandblasting cabinet that is used to strip paint in connection with overhauling valve blocks and smaller components.

Typical sizes we process in the sandblasting cabinet:
•    Often up to approx. 40 × 30 × 35 cm
•    If necessary, we can handle up to approx. 45 × 45 × 45 cm

This capacity makes us well suited for:
•    Preparatory work before new surface treatment during overhaul
•    Removal of old paint and coatings on smaller valve blocks and components

Typical applications at Kongsberg

•    Hydraulic valve blocks and valve equipment
•    Smaller components for system deliveries from Servi
•    Surface treatment in connection with service, revision and overhaul
•    Priming and tie-coat as part of a larger paint system
